History of Ditch witch UK
Ditch Witch UK / Euro Equipment Ltd has been in the trenchless equipment business for over 25 years. In the earlier 1980s Managing Director Dave Holloway designed and built a small compact air compressor named ‘The Power Converter’ to power a pneumatic Mole for British Gas in South Wales. With this project proving to be a great success, Dave’s aim was to supply the complete Compressor/Mole package and trialled Moles from several manufactures before choosing a pneumatic Mole from a Company called Pierce Airrow based in Chicago.
The transition from Pierce Arrow to Ditch Witch
Euro Equipment was now gaining momentum, supplying a complete Compressor/Mole Packages to most of the major utilities in the country. (Manweb, Norweb, Northern, Electric, British Gas, MEB.) After a few years of being a Pierce Airrow Tooling Dealer, it was announced that Pierce Airrow was to be purchased by The Charles Machine Work Inc. (Ditch Witch) from Perry, Oklahoma.
The Company Growth
From that day on Euro Equipment has been the Ditch Witch Equipment Dealer for the whole of the UK and Ireland, supplying and supporting the complete equipment range. Over the years we have seen the need to expand and now have a purpose built 10,000sq/ft Facility in Swansea, which includes a training centre, offices and a workshop. Also on the same site we have a 1-Acre demo ground.
Additionally on the same site we have a 4,000sq/ft plant that manufactures a soil stabilizer called Perma-soil, which enables excavated materials to be recycled, it is currently used though out the industry for applications such water meter installations and the erecting of poles. More recently we have opened a 4,000sq/ft facility in Lincoln, which includes offices and workshop. We also have a small demo available on the same industrial estate.

We are very fortunate to employ several key members of staff, who have been employed by the company for a number of years:
- Dave Holloway – Managing Director, owner with over 35 years of Construction Equipment experience
- Mark Davies – Sales Manager, employed since 1995 – Factory trained in Sales & Parts
- Mike Harris – Sales Manager, employed since 1996 – Factory trained in Sales & Parts
- Ian Dando – Service & Training Manager, employed since 1995, Factory trained in Product Support & Operator Training
- Chris Holloway – Parts Manager, employed since 2002 – Factory trained in Sales & Parts
- Lindsay Coffey – Accounts Manager, employed since 2001
- Wynne Roberts – Service Technician, employed since 1994 – Factory trained in Product Support
Summary
Euro Equipment have been part of the Ditch Witch Organisation for over 20 years and have seen the product range grow from the supply a few core products like small service lines trenchers, Rod Pushers and Moles to the product line which Ditch Witch offers today which includes Moles, Directional Drills, Trenchers, Rockwheels, Vibratory Ploughs, Pipe Bursting Systems, Excavator Tool Carriers, Mini Skid Steer Tools Carriers, ZAHN, Vacuum Excavation Systems and Subsite Electronics.
